Faith Castle<\/span><\/h3>\n

Faith Castle is a senior at the University of Texas at Austin. Castle is a co-founder of BlackPrint, UT\u2019s only Black interest publication, and the president of the National Association of Black Journalists at UT. She has worked as a multimedia intern at KUT\/X and is a current multimedia fellow at The Texas Tribune. Her goal is to tell stories focused on marginalized communities through a form of multimedia or broadcast reporting. <\/span><\/p>\n

Colleen DeGuzman<\/span><\/h3>\n

Colleen DeGuzman is a student at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, majoring in mass communication with a concentration in print journalism, and minoring in communication studies. For the past two years, she has been a features reporter and page designer for The Monitor daily newspaper in McAllen, Texas, covering health and education, among other beats. She is also a writing intern for Ashoka, an international nonprofit, and previously interned for NBC\u2019s TODAY Show. Her passion for journalism stems from her love of listening and telling the stories of people in the Rio Grande Valley. <\/span><\/p>\n

Daisy Espinoza<\/span><\/h3>\n

Daisy Espinoza is a broadcast journalism student at the University of Houston, minoring in human development and family studies. She\u2019s served as a news producer and social media manager at UH\u2019s student media center, and she\u2019s also produced her own video packages as a field reporter. As a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, she connects with other journalists who share her interest in highlighting the Latinx community. Aside from connecting with people in the community, Daisy wants to document her travels across the 50 states in her personal traveling scrapbook.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rolando Hernandez<\/span><\/h3>\n

Rolando Hernandez is a senior studying public relations and journalism at the University of Texas at Austin. He has previously interned with <\/span>The Texas Observer<\/span><\/i>, creating data visualizations for their digital team, and at KXAN-TV in their investigative unit. Hernandez is also a part of <\/span>ProPublica\u2019s Emerging Reporter Program<\/span><\/a> for its 2021 class. He hopes to one day solidify his career as an investigative reporter, bringing more data and numbers into the world of audio. When he\u2019s not out in the field, Hernandez enjoys baking bread, tending to his many house plants and playing video games.<\/span><\/p>\n

Patricia Lim<\/span><\/h3>\n

Patricia Lim graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a focus in journalism in 2020. As an immigrant from the Philippines, Patricia strives to cover marginalized communities, such as people experiencing homelessness, Asian-Americans and people with disabilities. She aspires to be an investigative multimedia journalist in her native country. When she\u2019s not working, Patricia likes to travel, go camping and stay active. <\/span><\/p>\n

Solomon Wilson<\/span><\/h3>\n

Solomon Wilson is a communications major minoring in women and gender studies at Texas A&M University\u2013San Antonio. He is the webmaster and social media coordinator for the university magazine, and was named co-editor in chief for spring 2021. Solomon enjoys curating impactful stories that are not normally told. He is also an avid music lover and musician, playing the sax and piano in his free time.<\/span><\/p>\n

Claudia Hern\u00e1ndez<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n

Claudia Hern\u00e1ndez is a photojournalist based at the border. Born in Ciudad Ju\u00e1rez, M\u00e9xico, she splits her time between her hometown and El Paso, Texas. She has worked as a photo editor at bilingual publications such as <\/span>The Prospector<\/span><\/i> and <\/span>Minero Magazine<\/span><\/i>. She is part of the project <\/span>Pasos en el Norte<\/span><\/i>, a bilingual publication of short stories about the border and its unique culture. She has also worked as a photographer for <\/span>The Great Khalid Foundation<\/span><\/i>. Claudia is currently working as a contributing reporter for <\/span>Borderless Magazine<\/span><\/i>. She is a ghostwriter for <\/span>Postcards from the Border, <\/span><\/i>a segment that tells stories about immigrants in the United States. <\/span><\/p>\n

Lauren Iba\u00f1ez<\/span><\/h3>\n

Lauren Iba\u00f1ez has a BFA in Studio Arts from the University of Texas in Austin, focusing her practice on illustration and printmaking. Influenced by comic books, film and folklore, she creates intricate stories conveying both suspense and empathy.\u00a0 A focal point in her art deals with sharing stories and exploring illustration as a narrative language.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lauren has experience not only as an illustrator, but also an editor at The Daily Texan newspaper, working with reporters and artists while creating her own pieces.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n
